Meeting Your Inner Child

If you’ve been following my work for a while now, you know that Synergy Wellness is about aligning mind, body and spirit. Through coaching and my membership program, I provide more than just fitness routines. Some of the most important inner work we do for our mental and emotional wellbeing is meet and befriend our ego and meet and nurture our inner child. In this week’s blog, I share what or who your inner child is and how you can get started nurturing them.

What and Who is the Inner Child

According to Dr. Nicole Lepare, the inner child is the lens in which we see our current life through. We all have an inner child that is based on our past experiences, unmet needs, emotional wounds and on how we learn to show up in the world. All of this formed in childhood.

Most of us have an unmet need (or several) that was not met in our childhood. This creates an emotional insecurity or wound that we carry with us, for most of us, unconscious, and we live from this place as adults. When these wounds or insecurities become triggered, our ego steps in to protect our wounded inner child from pain. We have now unconsciously stepped into ego consciousness.

Meeting and connecting with your inner child is part of healing these insecurities or wounds. Becoming self aware of what yours are is step one in the 3 Steps to Transformation.  Step 2 will help you not choose an egoic response.

This month in my Membership program, Aligning with Alexis  I share how to meet your inner child and begin nurturing them. If you’re interested in exploring this work further, for just $4.97/ month you can get support in the private membership program. This membership program also gives you discounts on future online courses that are coming out. Learn more about Aligning with Alexis.

If you feel that the membership is not for you, just know that you have an inner child, that when triggered, your ego will step in. When we continue to live life with little to no awareness of this, it will be near impossible to make the changes in your relationships with others and yourself and your health and wellbeing. You can use my 3 Steps to Transformation mini workshop to begin making great changes.

7 Skills For the Art of Integration

It’s been 10 years since I’ve been in the health and wellness industry helping people live healthier lives. I started helping others where I started with myself; fitness. Then I earned my certificate in Health Coaching and focused on diet. In the midst of all this, I was having a quarter life crisis and what I call spiritual awakening and this brought me to integrate my emotional and spiritual self with the physical and mental.
