How Will You Live Your Post-Interrupted Life?
Having your life interrupted can be really challenging, but it can also be a powerful opportunity. It gives us an opportunity to think and reconsider our priorities and to live our post interrupted life accordingly. Just having a break from “normal” life or your “normal” routine can have you asking yourself, are you interested in this job or what you do day to day?
You may realize you want to make a pivot. It doesn’t have to be anything grand. Or it could be.
Thinking a little bit differently or a little illogically can help when navigating through a big interruption. Rather than getting stuck in the fear and forcing things to work that no longer do, respond to the interruption. What can you do differently? What else is available? Where do you see opportunities?
Also re-evaluating what’s important to you right now. How can you make small shifts to align your post interrupted life with what is really important to you right now?
What we are really seeing from this pandemic is that there are no guarantees, so focusing day to day on what is important to you in that moment or in that day is one small shift that is super doable. Are there certain connections that you are wanting to deepen? Are there things you’re doing now that you’d like to let go of? Are there priorities that you’re not taking care of that you want to start taking care of?
Also remember that you don’t have to have it all figured out right now at the very time you ask the questions. Pivots in new directions are just about knowing where you want to go and the how will happen just by you pursuing as the unfolding happens. You can alway pivot back.
The unfolding is part of the process. It may take a month, a year or a few years. That’s okay. Very few of my shifts took less than a few months and more like a few years but always worth it.
It’s just for you and only you to know what pivot or shift you’re desiring to make.
Look within and connect with your inner truth. Close your eyes. Breathe and create awareness.
Take the risk and do the thing you believe in.
Be patient.
