How to Establish Your Values & Why It’s So Important

How often would you say you make decisions based on your values? When you look around at your life, does your life, or the things that make up your life align with what you value?

Consider who you surround yourself with, or how you feel day to day or how you treat yourself and others, does all of this align with how you want your life to be and who you want to be?

Feeling dissatisfied in life can often be a sign that we are out of alignment with our values. Once we reflect on this we can bring about some fantastic breakthroughs that can help steer us on a more fulfilling path.

So let’s go over what values are and how you can identify yours.

What are values?

  • Qualities we embody and resonate with in every aspect of our lives.
  • The ethical framework around how we design our life
  • We subconsciously refer to our values everytime we make a decision
  • They will evolve as we do
  • Values are not goals…they are who we are, not who we want to be

When we know and live from our values, we can live more authentically and fulfilling lives.

How to Identify Your Values

Write about a time you were the happiest. What happened? What were the different emotions you felt? Where were you? Who were you with? What made this moment special? What did you learn from this experience?

Now write about a time when you were troubled. What happened? What were the different emotions you felt? Where were you and who were you with? Is there anything you would have done differently? What did you earn from this experience?

Next, examine, were there any similar themes in your memories? Write them down. This is a raw outline

Lastly, circle your top five values. Identify any area of your life that don’t align with your values and adjust accordingly.

When you act in alignment to your values, you can then create, access or align with those vibrations and feelings.
