4 Ways to Get Back to Yourself After Life Gets Messy

Life can get messy. If you’ve been following my blogs for a bit, you know I talk about grounding practices, as well as different ways to connect deeper to yourself. However, when life is messy, it’s easy to get away from these practices that are so healing for us. Our mind, body and soul will take a hit and the stress and unhappiness will begin to show up in our body; muscle tension, headaches, lack of sleep, moodiness, etc.
When life gets messy, know that it is temporary and once you’ve got your bearings and a bit of the mess has settled, here are four things you can do to clear some of it out, realign and begin moving forward.

Water

Sit in water. An Epsom salt bath, hot tub, sauna, a hot spring. Just get that body relaxed in some warmth. Epsom salt pulls out toxins for extra cleansing.

Air

Breathe in fresh air. Oh how lucky we are to be able to breath in our air. Get that booty of yours out in nature and take several deep breaths as you appreciate the beauty around you. Deep belly breaths are powerful and releasing.

Fire

Sunshine is great and I’m all about it but I’m legit talking about fire. Write the mess down on paper. Write it all out; the situation, your feelings, and your closure. Then burn that baby in fire to release its energy out of your body, mind, soul and into the Universe.

Earth

Grab a crystal. I love my crystals if, for nothing else, they are great visual reminders of what I am working towards. They have different meanings and some overlap. Find a local crystal store and see which one calls to you. Which one represents what you are wanting to focus on in your life. The energy you want to bring. Keep this crystal near. But don’t let it get lost in your purse or car. Keep it somewhere you can see it daily to remind you of your strength and where you are headed.

Allow yourself to come back to your why, your mission in life and your practices.
